The Women's Foundation of California is pleased to announce the 10th year of the Women’s Policy Institute. They are now accepting applications for the 2012–2013 year. The primary goal of the Women’s Policy Institute is to increase the number of women leaders who are actively involved in shaping public policy— especially women who represent historically marginalized communities. The Institute provides intensive training in California’s public policy process and on topics that are integral to the process such as conducting research, developing effective messages, mobilizing constituents and understanding the budget process. Each year, approximately 35 California women are selected from multiple sectors. They understand how women are impacted by public policy and what needs to change and they have deep connections to the grassroots community.
